Paladin Consulting is currently hiring a HR Assistant to join our team working onsite at our client's office located in Yorktown, VA.

Job Title: HR Assisant
Work Location: Yorktown, VA
Duration: 2-3 month contract with possible extension

Job Description
  • Performs administrative duties such as typing, mailing, filing, faxing and distributing correspondence.
  • Answers routine employee questions regarding human resources policies, procedures, or practices.
  • Inputs data in Human Resources Information System as directed by authorized persons.
  • Processes various confidential forms and records.
  • Assists in gathering and compiling a variety of statistical information as needed for various programs and projects.
  • Makes travel arrangements for mobilizing employees and departmental personnel.
  • Arranges appointments for pre-employment physicals and drug screens for new and existing employees.
  • Assures that all necessary pre-placement tests/checks have been conducted prior to actual hire.
  • Assists with Human Resources special projects as needed.
  • Processes paperwork for new hires, mails new employment packets and types offer letters.
  • Maintains and distributes employee information, policy and procedure manuals and other communications.
  • Assists with coordination of HR functional tasks activities within a business unit.
  • Copies and distributes various reports and documentation.
  • Compiles and summarizes responses to questionnaires, surveys or other information from assigned department.
  • Position may be assigned to a specific targeted business area and may require additional or specific job duties related to assigned function which are not aforementioned.

Mandatory Skills:
  • Working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office Suite Software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint).
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems, i.e. PeopleSoft preferred
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate office machines (ex: fax machine, copier, etc.).
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of administrative experience.
